Paris Masters: Jaime Faria eliminated in qualifying rounds

Portuguese tennis player Jaime Faria was eliminated in the first round of qualifying at the Paris Masters after losing to Australia's Rinky Hijikata. Faria, currently ranked 57th in the world, lost in straight sets with scores of 3-6 and 4-6.

In post-match comments, Faria noted that indoor conditions have been challenging for him this season. The tournament, a Masters 1000 event, is taking place in Paris, France. Another Portuguese player, Nuno Borges, remains in the competition scheduled to face Adrian Mannarino.

In the doubles category, Brazilian players Orlando Luz and Rafael Matos enter the Paris Masters as the 8th seeds. They are competing for a spot in the ATP Finals in Turin. Their recent performance in Vienna, where they were eliminated in the opening round, caused them to drop to ninth place in the season rankings following victories by rivals Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard.
