Paris prosecutor seeks five-year sentence for after-school supervisor

A prosecutor has requested a five-year prison sentence, including at least one year of firm imprisonment, for Michaël M., a 38-year-old after-school supervisor in Paris. He is accused of sexually assaulting nine children between the ages of 6 and 9 at a primary school in the 15th arrondissement.

The alleged crimes took place between September 2022 and January 2024. During the seven-hour hearing, the defendant expressed regret and shame but claimed he could not remember many of the specific acts. The prosecutor noted that while the defendant's admissions were incomplete, they nonetheless constituted confessions. In addition to the prison term, the prosecution is seeking five years of socio-judicial monitoring.
