Paris ranked as world’s coziest autumn travel destination

Paris has been ranked as the world’s coziest destination for autumn breaks according to a study by BC Game. The ranking evaluated various city-break destinations based on their atmosphere and affordability during the autumn months, utilizing a ‘Coziness Score’ that factored in the density of cafés, bookstores, and parks, as well as average October temperatures and rainy days.

In the ranking, Paris placed ahead of Turin and Copenhagen, with Prague and Boston rounding out the top five. The French capital’s high score is attributed to its high concentration of amenities, including nearly 500 cafés, 475 bookstores, and over 360 parks per 10 square kilometers. The study suggests a shift in tourism preferences toward ‘slower travel,’ focusing on urban environments that support walking, browsing, and café culture after the summer peak season.
