Paris Saint-Germain fined 150,000 euros by LFP

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has been ordered to pay a 150,000 euro fine by the Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) following the inversion of a match against Rennes. The sanction was issued because the pitch at the Parc des Princes was deemed unplayable, forcing the match to be moved to Rennes.

The funds collected from this fine will not serve as standard revenue for the League. Instead, the money will be redistributed across several specific areas of French professional football.

According to reports, the funds will support the LFP’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, including programs focused on the environment, health, and inclusion. Additionally, the money will fund marketing and digital activities, provide aid to former professional players, and be donated to various football-related associations. This redistribution mechanism applies to all financial sanctions imposed on professional clubs in France.
