Paris Saint-Germain targets Alejandro Balde from FC Barcelona

Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly preparing a €40 million bid for FC Barcelona defender Alejandro Balde during the upcoming January transfer window. PSG manager Luis Enrique, who previously coached Balde with the Spanish national team, is said to be a primary driver behind the interest, viewing the 22-year-old left-back as a potential option for the squad.

Balde’s situation at Barcelona has become increasingly difficult due to limited playing time under manager Hansi Flick. While the player has a contract running until June 2028 with a release clause of €1 billion, his reduced role in the defensive rotation has led to discussions regarding a potential exit.

Other clubs, including Manchester United and Liverpool, are also monitoring the situation as Balde seeks more regular minutes. However, PSG’s financial approach currently appears to be the most concrete pursuit.
