PSG and Olympique Lyonnais review summer transfer windows

French football clubs Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Olympique Lyonnais (OL) have provided updates following the summer transfer window.

PSG management, including Nasser al-Khelaïfi and Luis Enrique, opted for a measured summer market rather than aggressive spending. Despite the departures of Bradley Barcola to Liverpool and Ibrahim Mbaye to Aston Villa, the club remains satisfied with its offensive depth. However, the club has identified two priority areas for the January window: an additional attacker and a right-sided central defender. The club intends to continue its strategy of recruiting players aged 16 to 25 with high resale potential.

At Olympique Lyonnais, sporting director Matthieu Louis-Jean and general manager Michaël Gerlinger expressed satisfaction with the squad's increased depth and profile complementarity. While the club aimed to bolster the bench to avoid previous end-of-season difficulties, leadership noted that player sales were less successful than desired due to offers falling below player valuations.
