Paris to host meeting on Lebanese Army support
A preparatory meeting is scheduled to take place in Paris on September 16 and 17 to discuss support for the Lebanese Armed Forces and assess the security situation in southern Lebanon. The meeting, hosted by France alongside Jordan and Lebanon, aims to coordinate international efforts to bolster the Lebanese military and its security institutions.
Lebanese officials and military leadership are currently preparing lists of urgent requirements to enable the armed forces to fulfill their roles. The United States has confirmed its participation in the conference, with American representatives expected to attend. Additionally, EU Foreign Policy Chief Kaja Kallas noted that over 10 EU member states are prepared to contribute resources and personnel toward new military and civilian missions to provide training and advice to Lebanese forces.
