Paris transport network faces extensive August closures and service disruptions
During August 2026, Paris and the surrounding Île‑de‑France region will undergo a series of scheduled works that will close sections of the Périphérique ring road each night. Closures are planned from early August through the end of the month, affecting tunnels such as Maillot, Brancion, Exelmans, Garigliano and Citroën‑Cévennes, with traffic halted between 21:30 and 06:00.
At the same time, the RATP and SNCF will run service alterations on metro, tram, RER and Transilien lines. Metro Line 8 will not stop at République, Line 13 will be interrupted between Saint‑Denis‑Université and La Fourche, and RER A will miss Nation. RER B, C and other lines will see night‑time suspensions on various sections, with replacement buses provided where needed. These disruptions run from 3 to 9 August, with some extensions into mid‑August for certain routes.
