Paris transport networks face disruptions and security closures
Public transport services in Paris and the Île-de-France region are facing various disruptions and security-related closures between August 17 and August 23, 2026.
Security measures requested by the police prefecture can lead to the preventive closure of stations during major events, such as state visits or large-scale demonstrations. For instance, during the Tour de France in July 2026, stations including Charles-de-Gaulle-Étoile, George V, and Argentine were temporarily closed to ensure safety.
Scheduled maintenance and construction work are also impacting several lines. On the RATP metro network, Line 8 is not serving République due to ongoing works, and Line 12 will experience nighttime service interruptions on Wednesdays and Sundays. Line 13 is seeing service interruptions between Saint-Denis – Université and La Fourche.
On the RER network, Line A is experiencing service interruptions between Vincennes and Noisy-le-Grand – Mont d'Est, while Line B is seeing nighttime closures between Denfert-Rochereau and Mitry – Claye. Line C is also facing weekday nighttime interruptions between Dourdan la Forêt and Brétigny.
