Paris Tribunal rejects emergency appeal against Xenia Fedorova's expulsion
The Paris Administrative Tribunal has rejected an emergency appeal to suspend the expulsion of Xenia Fedorova, a Russian media commentator. The court ruled that the legal requirement to demonstrate urgency was not met, though it did not rule on the underlying legality of the expulsion order itself.
Fedorova, who frequently appears on French media outlets such as CNews and Europe 1, is currently abroad. French authorities have accused her of acting as a conduit for Russian-led disinformation campaigns intended to destabilize public order in France. In addition to the expulsion order, her assets have been frozen for six months.
Fedorova's lawyer, Emmanuel Piwnica, challenged the measures, describing them as illegal and disproportionate. He argued that his client poses no threat to the fundamental interests of the state or public order. While the emergency appeal was denied, the court remains seized of a substantive appeal that will be adjudicated at a later date.
