Parisian designer transforms small Marais apartment
Interior designer Antoine Simonin of Asai has completed a renovation of a 20-square-meter apartment located on the sixth floor in the historic Marais district of Paris. Situated on rue du Temple, the small space is designed to provide a high-end experience similar to luxury hospitality, offering services such as daily cleaning and premium linens.
The design draws heavy inspiration from the architectural heritage of the Marais, featuring elements like Louis XIII and Louis XIV style coffered ceilings and embroidered curtains reminiscent of traditional hunting tapestries. To maintain a connection to the neighborhood's history, the apartment utilizes Raujolles terracotta tiles in a 1960s mosaic pattern, featuring a dark Siena tone that complements the dark wood elements of the space.
