Parit Wacharasindhu alleges Senate election collusion

Parit Wacharasindhu, a People's Party MP and opposition whip leader, has expressed concerns regarding the Election Commission of Thailand's (ECT) handling of Senate election collusion allegations. Parit anticipates the ECT will reach a decision on the matter by August 31, expressing skepticism that the commission might dismiss the case after allegedly failing to prevent the alleged manipulation.

During a political forum in Ayutthaya, Parit identified Witthaya Khampuang, the Mayor of Phon Sa Subdistrict in Nong Khai, as a person of interest. Parit presented evidence, including audio clips and hotel booking records from Rangsit, suggesting that Witthaya was involved in coordinating Senate candidates. The records reportedly show a booking for 12 people, including eight Senate candidates.

Parit further alleged that various locations, including hotels in Ayutthaya and Rangsit, as well as a factory in Samut Sakhon, served as hubs for coordinating Senate candidate lists for several provinces. He also noted potential links to the Bhumjaithai Party, citing similarities in logos and the presence of former Bhumjaithai MP Supachai Phosu at a location used for coordination.
