Marlon B. James killed in shooting at Jamaican bar

Marlon B. James, a former member of the German musical collective Söhne Mannheims, has been killed in a shooting in Jamaica. The 60-year-old musician, who had moved to the island after retiring from the music industry in 2017, was operating a bar in Robins Bay.

According to reports from local media and the Jamaican newspaper ‘Gleaner’, armed men arrived at the establishment in a vehicle and opened fire. The attack resulted in three fatalities: Marlon B. James, a 22-year-old man inside the bar, and a 42-year-old man outside the building. The assailants fled the scene immediately following the incident.

The Söhne Mannheims confirmed the news via social media, posting a tribute to their former member. James was a significant figure in the band’s history, known for incorporating reggae and Patois influences into their sound. The Jamaican police’s Major Investigation Division has taken over the case to determine the motive behind the attack.
