Park City, Utah, announces 2026/2027 winter season expansions
Park City, Utah, is preparing for the 2026/2027 winter season with significant expansions and upgrades across its major mountain destinations. The season is scheduled to begin on November 20 at Park City Mountain and on December 5 at Deer Valley Resort, with both locations expected to close on April 11.
Deer Valley Resort, which focuses exclusively on skiing, is continuing its ‘Expanded Excellence’ program. This initiative includes the addition of seven new trails and a new lift in the East Village area, contributing to a total of 210 trails and 32 lifts across 1,740 hectares. Park City Mountain remains the largest resort in the United States, featuring approximately 3,000 hectares, 330 trails, and 41 lifts.
Infrastructure and hospitality improvements include renovated hotels such as the Hotel Thaynes and new management for the Main & Sky property. The region is also seeing growth in its culinary scene, with three establishments—The Nelson Cottage by High West, Matilda, and Handle Park City—receiving recognition from the Michelin Guide.
Major sporting events are also slated for the season, including a stage of The Snow League at Park City Mountain in January and the Intermountain Health Freestyle International World Cup at Deer Valley from January 28 to 30.
