Park Gradac in Dubrovnik to reopen after major renovation
Park Gradac in Dubrovnik is scheduled to host its official reopening on Wednesday, September 16, following its first complete renovation in over 120 years. The project, valued at approximately 4.4 million euros, focused on preserving the park's historical and green character while modernizing its facilities.
Key improvements include renovated walkways, new public lighting, urban equipment, and a new playground. The northern section now features a small auditorium for outdoor gatherings. The renovation also introduced a new pedestrian path through previously unused areas, accessible sanitary facilities for people with disabilities, a new hydrant network, and an irrigation system.
Significant attention was given to the park's greenery; while 439 existing trees were preserved, 401 new trees of over 30 different species were planted, alongside more than 13,000 other plants. The opening event begins at 18:00 with performances by TRIKO Cirkus Teatra, followed by the official opening at 19:30 and a musical program featuring local rock bands Bakula and New Noise.
