Park Hae-il and Park Seo-joon to star in historical thriller ‘Firefly’

Actors Park Hae-il and Park Seo-joon are set to star in the upcoming historical thriller ‘Firefly’, directed by Lee Joon-ik. The production company announced the cast lineup on August 21, with Choi Dae-hoon also joining the main cast.

The film follows a detective, played by Park Seo-joon, who attempts to overcome the stigma of guilt by association. His journey leads him to Hwayong-myeon, where he uncovers a truth concealed for 24 years. The narrative spans two historical periods: 1974, during South Korea’s authoritarian era, and 1950, following the outbreak of the Korean War.

Park Hae-il will portray Man-seop, a mysterious figure who prompts the detective’s investigation. Choi Dae-hoon will play Tae-sik, a deputy director of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency. Filming is scheduled to begin on September 27.
