Park Jie-won criticizes Chu Mi-ae over convention support

Controversy has emerged within the Democratic Party of Korea following actions by Gyeonggi Province Governor Chu Mi-ae during the party's leadership convention race. Chu posted supportive comments on a Facebook post by candidate Jung Chung-rae, expressing belief in his consistency and sincerity regarding reform tasks.

Representative Park Jie-won criticized the move, stating that it is “not appropriate” for a regional head to offer public support for a specific candidate during a convention. Park also expressed skepticism regarding Chu’s recent declaration of a “fiscal emergency” in Gyeonggi Province, noting that such statements provide political ammunition to the opposition party.
