Park Joon-hyung receives inaugural Jeon Yoo-sung Award
Comedian Park Joon-hyung has been named the inaugural recipient of the ‘Jeon Yoo-sung Award’ at the opening ceremony of the 14th Busan International Comedy Festival. Held at the BEXCO Auditorium, the award was newly established to honor the legacy and passion of the late comedian Jeon Yoo-sung, who passed away last September.
The award recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the development of Korean comedy. Comedian Lee Hong-ryeol presented the award, noting his desire for Jeon’s sense of humor to live on through this honor. In his acceptance speech, Park expressed his humility and shared a lighthearted moment by imitating Jeon, suggesting the late comedian might have joked about why the award wasn't created sooner.
The 14th Busan International Comedy Festival, themed ‘Return of the Legends,’ runs until the 30th. The festival features 52 teams from 10 different countries, offering a variety of performances including drawing shows, circus-comedy hybrids, and talk shows.
