Park Jun-yeop calls for increased field communication for education integration

Park Jun-yeop, a member of the Jeonnam-Gwangju Integrated Special City Council, has called for increased field communication to ensure the successful integration of the Jeonnam and Gwangju education systems. During a recent business report, Park pointed out a significant decline in the frequency of direct school visits and student engagement by the education office, noting that visits dropped from 60 in 2024 to only 16 so far in 2026.

To address potential disparities in educational environments between the two regions, Park proposed a strategic, phased school visit plan. This plan would involve cross-visiting various types of institutions, such as private schools focused on entrance exams and schools specializing in rolling admissions, to identify policy touchpoints and integrate the unique characteristics of each region's schools into a unified educational policy.
