Park Kwang-Jin and Wayne Thiebaud featured in major art exhibitions

Major art exhibitions featuring prominent masters are opening in New York and Seoul.

In New York, Hunter Dunbar Projects is hosting “Park Kwang-Jin: Seeker of Nature,” the first major solo presentation of the Korean artist in the United States. The exhibition, running from September 17 through October 24, features works spanning nearly four decades, from 1986 to 2025. Park, a founding member of the Mokwoohoe, is recognized for his role in Korea’s postwar art history and his focus on nature.

In Seoul, the Dongdaemun Design Plaza is hosting “Wayne Thiebaud: The Order of Things” as part of Hyundai Card’s Culture Project. This is the first full-scale retrospective of the American artist in Korea, featuring 105 works that span seven decades. While Thiebaud is widely known for his depictions of cakes and diner subjects, the exhibition explores his broader connection to abstraction and geometry.
