Park We and Song Ji-eun face allegations of family favoritism

YouTuber Park We and his wife, Song Ji-eun, are facing online scrutiny following allegations of preferential treatment toward actress Yoon So-hee in a family video. The controversy stems from a September 2024 video on the ‘We React’ YouTube channel, which documented the couple’s first Chuseok holiday with Park’s family.

Viewers pointed to several details as evidence of Song Ji-eun being sidelined, including the use of different tableware for her while other family members and Yoon So-hee used a matching set. Critics also noted that Park mentioned Yoon So-hee before his wife during a pre-meal prayer and that family members focused their praise on Yoon’s academic background at KAIST.

While some netizens characterized the behavior as disrespectful to the new daughter-in-law, others defended the family, arguing that the criticism is based on isolated, edited clips and constitutes an excessive ‘witch hunt.’

This controversy follows recent backlash against Park We regarding a KTX incident, where he was criticized for publicly targeting a social service worker in a CCTV video. Following that incident, Park apologized, suspended channel activities, and resigned from his position as a Seoul City ambassador.
