Park We resigns as Seoul Metropolitan Government ambassador

YouTuber Park We has voluntarily resigned from his position as an ambassador for the Seoul Metropolitan Government following a public controversy.

The dispute began after Park released CCTV footage on his YouTube channel, ‘We Miracle’, showing a fall he experienced while disembarking a KTX train. Park stated the video was intended to highlight the need for improved mobility environments for wheelchair users and to prevent similar accidents. However, he faced significant backlash for exposing the mistake of a social service worker who was assisting him, with critics arguing the disclosure was excessive.

Despite Park deleting the video and issuing an apology, the controversy led to the cancellation of several scheduled lectures and public appearances. Additionally, formal complaints were filed with the government requesting his removal from the ambassador role. In response to the mounting pressure and to reflect on his actions, Park informed the Seoul Metropolitan Government of his decision to step down, leaving approximately 10 months remaining in his original term.
