ParkBee expands Belgian app to include street parking
ParkBee is expanding its parking application services in Belgium to include street parking options in addition to its existing network of private parking garages. Through a partnership with the Belgian mobility app Seety, the service aims to provide drivers with a unified platform to view both street and private parking availability.
The expansion is intended to reduce urban traffic congestion, as studies suggest approximately 30% of traffic in busy cities consists of drivers searching for parking. In cities like Brussels and Antwerp, where the number of registered vehicles significantly exceeds available street parking spaces, the app seeks to help users plan trips more efficiently by comparing costs and availability between street spots and private garages.
ParkBee has stated it will not charge additional service or administrative fees for the street parking feature. The goal is to optimize existing parking capacity and reduce unnecessary search traffic by allowing users to reserve spaces in private garages or locate street spots within a single interface.
