Parke County Covered Bridge Festival concludes in Indiana

The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival, recognized as the largest festival in Indiana, concludes its 2026 edition this Sunday, October 18. Established in 1957, the event celebrates the region's 31 historic wooden covered bridges, which have earned the county the title of world capital of covered bridges.

The festival is spread across ten different locations within the county, including Rockville, Bridgeton, and Mansfield, rather than being centralized in one spot. Visitors can explore historical mills, craft markets, and scenic autumn landscapes while sampling local specialties such as slow-cooked meats, homemade pies, fig cookies, and Indiana breaded pork sandwiches.

While admission to the festival is free, additional costs may apply for food, parking, and guided tours. Much of the activity is centered around the historic county courthouse in Rockville.
