Parkes police seize drugs and phones after arrest

A 46-year-old woman faces multiple charges following a police response to a welfare concern at a Brolgan Road property in Parkes on Sunday, August 23.

During the encounter, police allege the woman threw an object that struck an officer in the leg. Officers report that the woman resisted arrest and refused to follow directions, leading to a physical altercation that required the use of capsicum spray.

A subsequent search of the residence resulted in the seizure of methamphetamine, cannabis, eight mobile phones, and a drug ledger. The woman has been charged with possessing a prohibited drug, assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty without actual bodily harm, hindering or resisting a police officer, and breaching bail. She was granted strict conditional bail and is scheduled to appear at Parkes Local Court on September 24.
