Parkland deputies rescue seven dogs from burning home
Deputies from the Broward County Sheriff's Office rescued seven dogs from a house fire in Parkland, Florida. The animals, consisting of five puppies and their parents, were trapped inside the home when the fire broke out in June.
Deputies Moses Arce and Hayden Stachura entered the burning building after finding standard entry points blocked. Working with the homeowner, the deputies used a laundry basket to carry the dogs to safety while firefighters worked to extinguish the flames. All seven dogs survived the incident without injury.
In August, the deputies were officially recognized for their bravery during a Parkland City Commission meeting. Parkland District Captain Michele McCardle stated that the deputies' decisive actions demonstrated a willingness to risk their safety to protect all members of the community.
