Parks invests R$500 million in Tier III data center in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul

Parks, a Brazilian connectivity and telecom company, announced a R$500 million investment to build a Tier III data center in Cachoeirinha, Rio Grande do Sul. The project will be rolled out in eight expansion phases, ultimately providing a total capacity of 5 MW (3.3 MW for IT load) across two independent buildings with eight data halls. The first phase, now nearing completion, includes 14 racks and will launch the high‑availability environment.

Designed to meet growing demand for cloud computing, artificial‑intelligence workloads and critical digital services, the facility will offer up to 386 high‑density racks and aims to secure data sovereignty within Brazil. Parks expects the center to generate around 40 direct and indirect jobs, reinforcing the state’s modest share—about 2%—of Brazil’s data‑center infrastructure, which itself represents roughly 1.5% of the global total.
