Parkside sets Guinness World Record by rotating London Eye

To celebrate its 30th anniversary, the DIY brand Parkside has secured a new Guinness World Record through a stunt titled ‘THE ROTATION’. Using a special edition 20V Parkside Performance cordless drill featuring the signature of Arnold Schwarzenegger, the brand successfully rotated the London Eye.

The London Eye, which stands 135 meters tall and weighs approximately 2,100 tons, was moved using a complex mechanical and hydraulic system. The technical execution of the feat was conducted in collaboration with the Technical University of Darmstadt, which provided the scientific calculations and engineering basis for the specialized hydraulic cable winch system used to transfer the tool's power to the structure.

This achievement follows the brand's 2025 ‘THE PULL’ stunt, where a 12V cordless screwdriver was used to tow an Airbus A380 weighing over 300 tons. The special edition drill, which offers a maximum torque of 60 Nm, is scheduled for availability at Lidl and Kaufland stores starting in late August 2026.
