Parla parish reports theft of tabernacle containing consecrated hosts

The Nuestra Señora de la Asunción parish in Parla has filed a police report following the theft of a tabernacle from its parish center chapel. The incident occurred on a Wednesday between two shifts of children's catechesis classes.

Inside the tabernacle was a ciborium containing approximately 30 consecrated hosts, as well as a larger host used for monthly nocturnal adoration. Despite several people being present in the building at the time—including catechists, parents, and the parochial vicar, Andrés Klonowski—no one reported seeing anything suspicious.

Parish priest Orlando Mateos conducted a search of the surrounding area, including trash containers and vacant lots in the old town, but was unable to locate the items. The community expressed shock over the event, and officials noted the theft coincided with the period leading up to Halloween, though no evidence has linked the incident to any specific motive.
