The service honored 135 peace officers, though no new names were added to the B.C. memorial this year.

In Ottawa, the 49th annual Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ memorial service took place on Parliament Hill. The ceremony recognized six individuals who died in 2026, including five police officers and one correctional services officer. Notable names included Ontario Provincial Police officers Brandon Malcolm and Tarun Bali, Toronto police officer Marc Pinizzotto, Sûreté du Québec officer Anais Fortin-Cozzens, Montreal police officer Mohamed Benreouane, and correctional services officer Nicolae Serban. Public Safety Minister Gary Anandasangaree attended the service to pay respects to the fallen and their families.
