Romania and Moldova host diverse cultural and film events

Romania and Moldova are hosting various cultural events, including film festivals and art exhibitions. In Bucharest, the 16th edition of the Bucharest Experimental Film Festival (BIEFF) is underway, featuring nearly 100 films under the theme ‘Vanishing Futures’. Additionally, the Artisan Food Market is moving to the National Library of Romania for its 13th edition, aiming to expand its capacity for gourmet products.

In the realm of visual arts, the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant is hosting an exhibition titled ‘Prezumții’, featuring 35 visual artists from the ‘Tinere Talente’ program. Other notable exhibitions include works by 13 artists from the ‘Câmpina Artelor’ Association in Brașov and an exhibition of paintings and decorative arts in Oradea.

Internationally, the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York is hosting ‘FJORD. The Pictures’, a photographic exhibition by Palme d’Or winner Cristian Mungiu. The exhibition, which features behind-the-scenes images from his recent production, serves to promote Romanian creativity and cinema on a global stage, potentially ahead of award seasons.
