Parliament of Montenegro hosts humanitarian waterbike challenge
The Parliament of Montenegro, in collaboration with the Municipality of Herceg Novi and Aquaride d.o.o. Budva, organized the second ‘Aquaride Humanitarian Waterbike Challenge 2026 – Special Edition’. Held in Porto Novo, the event was designed to celebrate 35 years of Montenegro being declared an ecological state and to promote sustainable mobility during European Mobility Week.
The event was attended by Montenegrin government ministers, members of Parliament, local government representatives, and Prince Nikola Petrović Njegoš. Marjan Šarec, the European Parliament rapporteur for Montenegro, was also in attendance.
Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandić opened the race, emphasizing that the event symbolizes the connection between environmental protection, healthy lifestyles, and sustainable tourism. He noted that the humanitarian nature of the challenge reflects values of solidarity and responsibility toward both people and nature.
