Parliamentary internship programs announced in Romania and EU

The Romanian Chamber of Deputies and the European Parliament are offering internship opportunities for students and graduates to gain experience in legislative and administrative environments.

In Romania, the second edition of the Chamber of Deputies' internship program opens for applications from September 21 to September 30, 2026. Selected participants will work for two months, from October 19 to December 18, 2026, for 20 hours per week. Interns will receive a monthly gross allowance of 1,900 lei and will participate in parliamentary commissions and specialized courses. Eligibility requires candidates to be at least 18 years old, residents of Romania, and possess proficiency in Romanian and at least one foreign language.

The European Parliament offers various paid internships, including the Schuman internship at the General Secretariat. These five-month programs take place in Brussels, Luxembourg, or Strasbourg, or through liaison offices in member states. The program is open to citizens of EU member states as well as candidate and accession countries. Additionally, a positive action program provides specific support and potential stipend increases for interns with disabilities.
