Parma attacker Nesta Elphege undergoes emergency surgery

Parma Calcio 1913 striker Nesta Elphege has undergone emergency laparoscopic appendectomy surgery following a diagnosis of acute appendicitis. The player was hospitalized at the Azienda Ospedaliero-Universitaria di Parma on Sunday after playing in Saturday's match.

The operation was performed by Dr. Nicola Busi of the Emergency Surgery department at Ospedale Maggiore di Parma, with assistance from the Anesthesia and Resuscitation Service directed by Professor Elena Bignami. The club's medical staff was also present during the procedure.

Elphege will remain under medical observation at the hospital for the next few days. Once discharged, he will begin a rehabilitation process to return to competitive play.
