Parma physicians adopt digital portal to reduce specialist waiting lists

In the province of Parma, approximately 90% of General Practitioners have joined the 'Portale della Presa in Carico' project. This digital tool is designed to reduce waiting lists and improve access to urgent specialist visits by providing better tracking, monitoring, and defined response times.

Alongside this organizational shift, telemedicine is being expanded across the province. General practitioners have already utilized remote dermatological evaluations for approximately 500 patients, identifying potential neoplastic lesions in 10% of those cases. Additionally, telemedicine is being used for diagnostic tests such as ECG, blood pressure monitoring, and spirometry to reduce patient travel and accelerate diagnostic timelines.
