Italian DOP foods highlighted at New York Summer Fancy Food Show

The Consorzio di Tutela of several Italian DOP products – Mozzarella di Bufala Campana, Grana Padano, Parmigiano Reggiano and the Modena balsamic vinegar consortia – participated in the Summer Fancy Food Show in New York from 28 to 30 June 2026. At stand 2925 and other locations they offered live demonstrations, including mozzarella filatura, showcooking sessions, master‑classes and tastings for buyers, media and consumers.

Representatives stressed the United States as a strategic market: Mozzarella di Bufala Campana accounts for 4‑7 % of its export, Parmigiano Reggiano exported about 7 000 tonnes to the U.S. in the first five months of 2026 (a 2.5 % rise), and the sector’s overall turnover reached €3.96 billion. The events also highlighted concerns about tariffs and the need for increased communication investment. The balsamic vinegar consortium used the show to strengthen its historic U.S. presence and combat “Italian sounding” products.

These activities aim to solidify export growth, showcase the quality and tradition of Italian specialty foods, and deepen ties between Italian producers and North‑American distributors and retailers.
