Parolee Arrested in Orange Park Shooting and Milwaukee Guard Sentenced for Fatal Gas‑Station Killing

In Orange, California, 30‑year‑old parolee Pedro Amarillaslares was arrested after a fatal shooting at Hart Park on Tuesday evening. Police said the suspect and the victim, whose name was not released, knew each other. Amarillaslares, who is on parole for prior gun and drug offenses and has a lengthy criminal record, was seen fleeing the scene with a handgun.

In Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 59‑year‑old security guard William Pinkins was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the August 2023 killing of 29‑year‑old Isaiah Allen, who was accused of stealing snack cakes from a gas station. Pinkins was convicted of first‑degree intentional homicide and illegal firearm possession, and also received a 10‑year term for the firearm charge.
