Paros wildfire forces power cut to Folgandros and Sikinos

A large wildfire on the Greek island of Paros prompted the state power utility DEHDE to temporarily shut off electricity on the nearby islands of Folgandros and Sikinos. The outage was ordered in consultation with fire authorities to guarantee the safe operation of aerial water‑dropping aircraft used to combat the blaze.

The municipalities of Folgandros and Sikinos said they have not received a timetable for restoring power and will inform residents and visitors as soon as DEHDE provides an update. Local officials expressed support for the firefighting teams and hoped the fire would be contained quickly.
