Parov Stelar: The origins and dual career of electro swing pioneer

Marcus Füreder, known professionally as Parov Stelar, is a pioneer of the electro swing genre. The musical style originated from a technical accident during a studio session when a vintage Billie Holiday vinyl record skipped, creating a repetitive loop that Füreder combined with modern house beats.

His music has gained significant commercial success, featuring in campaigns for global brands such as Google, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Bacardi. Additionally, his track ‘Booty Swing’ was included in the soundtrack for the film ‘The Great Gatsby’.

Beyond his career as a DJ, Füreder is also an accomplished visual artist. He produces digital graphics and large-scale oil paintings that are exhibited in international galleries and collected by art enthusiasts.
