Parque da Serrinha begins 12-month revitalization project

Revitalization works have begun at Parque da Serrinha Jornalista Jaime Câmara, which will remain closed to the public for approximately 12 months. The project involves structural interventions, including earthmoving, paving, drainage, and new electrical and lighting installations.

The development aims to transform the preservation area into a sustainable community space focused on environmental conservation, leisure, and tourism. Key features will include a walking track, cycle path, playgrounds, an outdoor gym, a pet place, and a lookout point with panoramic views. The site will also host the Museu do Cerrado to promote the local biome.

To support environmental recovery, the Government of Goiás has implemented the Degraded Areas Recovery Plan, which began planting 5,000 native seedlings in September 2024. Security measures will include 24-hour armed surveillance, video monitoring, and the ‘Fogo Zero’ plan, featuring fire detection systems and daily patrols by the Fire Department.
