Parque Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda undergoes 11 rehabilitation projects

The Plan Venezuela Renace initiative is currently conducting 11 comprehensive rehabilitation projects at the Generalísimo Francisco de Miranda Park (Parque del Este) in Caracas. Managed by the Ministry of Ecosocialism and Inparques, these efforts aim to restore the park to its original design while integrating modern standards ahead of its 66th anniversary.

Key infrastructure improvements include the restoration of the acoustic shell, renovation of 11 public restrooms, service areas, restaurants, and original facades. The project also focuses on the park's hydraulic system, involving the restitution of 11 water wells, pumping systems, and the maintenance of drainage and oxygenation systems for the nine existing lakes.

To support local athletes, the plan includes upgrading walkways and reconstructing sports areas with new equipment. Additionally, the project seeks to recover the original landscape design by Roberto Burle Marx through the reintroduction of plant species that had disappeared due to rising temperatures. These rehabilitation actions are intended to eventually extend to 47 recreational parks across the country.
