Parques de Sintra nominated for World Travel Awards

Parques de Sintra has been nominated for the World Travel Awards 2026 in the category of ‘World’s Leading Conservation Company’. The nomination recognizes the organization's management and preservation of the cultural and natural heritage in Sintra, including sites such as the Pena National Palace, Monserrate Palace, the Capuchos Convent, and the Moors Castle.

In conjunction with this recognition, the entity is undertaking major restoration projects. These include a full restoration of the Royal Chapel at the Sintra National Palace, involving an investment of approximately 2.7 million euros, and the recovery of structural elements and roofing at Monserrate Palace, estimated at 3 million euros. Both projects are expected to be completed by 2027.

João Sousa Rego, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Parques de Sintra, stated that the organization has an obligation to preserve this heritage for the future and that excellence must serve as their reference point.
