Parques Reunidos parent company prepared for sale worth over 1.5 billion euros

The Swedish investment fund EQT is preparing to sell Parques Reunidos, the Spanish parent company of several major European theme parks, including Bobbejaanland in Belgium, Slagharen in the Netherlands, and Movie Park Germany.

According to reports from Spanish business media, the deal could be valued at more than 1.5 billion euros. EQT, which holds a 52 percent stake in the company, has reportedly engaged JPMorgan to prepare the sale process. While the process is in its early stages, the potential transaction follows Parques Reunidos' previous strategy of divesting international assets, such as its American division, to focus on European expansion.

Parques Reunidos manages over thirty recreation destinations across ten countries, including Italy and Spain. Other major holdings include Tropical Islands in Germany and Parque Warner Madrid.
