Parral Opposes Transfer of Judicial Courts to Chihuahua

State deputy Guillermo Ramírez Gutiérrez, representing District 21, reported that civic, business and legal groups in Parral reject the relocation of the city's penal and civil courts to the state capital, Chihuahua. They view the move as a setback for the institutional life of the southern region.

Ramírez has met with chambers such as Coparmex and the Regional Economic Development Council (Coder), as well as the Hidalgo District Bar Association and the Parral Bar Association, all urging a halt to the transfer. Magistrates Yamil Athie Gómez (civil) and María Elizabeth Macías Márquez (penal) are slated to begin hearing cases from Chihuahua under a second‑instance model linked to a State Magistrates and Digital Justice Network; only part of the civil court would remain in Parral while the full penal court would move. The deputy plans to request a meeting with TSJ president Marcela Herrera to discuss the issue. Movimiento Ciudadano legislator Francisco Sánchez Villegas also called for a careful review of the Judicial Administration Office's decision, led by Karla Esmeralda Reyes Orozco, which was approved on 13 July.
