Parthiv Patel says India must tell teen Vaibhav Suryavanshi he’s not in the playing eleven
Former Indian wicketkeeper‑batter Parthiv Patel appealed to the national team management to speak openly with 15‑year‑old Vaibhav Suryavanshi, stating that the youngster does not have a place in the playing eleven for the current India‑England T20 series. Patel stressed that, given Suryavanshi’s age, the staff should explain the situation clearly and advise patience. Suryavanshi has impressed with a prolific IPL 2026 showing – 776 runs in 16 matches and a record for sixes – and performed strongly for India A in a tri‑series against Sri Lanka, scoring a half‑century in just 11 balls. Though he was under consideration for the Ireland T20 series, he was not selected. The next India‑England T20 match is scheduled in Manchester.
