Parti Bersatu Sabah elects Hajiji Dojoh as chairman

During the 41st Annual Delegates Conference of Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS), Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Dojoh officially assumed the role of party chairman, succeeding veteran leader Datuk Seri Panglima Maximus Ongkili.

In his policy speech, Hajiji outlined four major transformation strategies to modernize the party and move away from its historical image. These include amending the party constitution to hold congresses every three years, implementing full digitalization of membership and communication, establishing a political leadership academy to train younger members, and creating a dedicated think tank to address issues such as the Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63), Sabah's economy, and food security.

Hajiji reaffirmed PBS's commitment to working alongside the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition to maintain state political stability. He also emphasized the party's stance on MA63, pledging to continue negotiations to secure Sabah's constitutional rights, including the 40% net tax revenue entitlement.

Outgoing chairman Maximus Ongkili delivered a farewell address, urging the new leadership and younger members to embrace reform and innovation while remaining rooted in the party's original mission of serving the people of Sabah and defending their constitutional rights.
