Parti Québécois proposes home care boost and cultural quotas
The Parti Québécois (PQ) has unveiled several key policy proposals aimed at healthcare and cultural preservation. Party leader Paul St-Pierre Plamondon announced a plan to increase the budget for home care services by 50% if the party forms the next government. This initiative seeks to support seniors in remaining in their own homes by providing better assistance with daily tasks such as medication management, meal preparation, and professional health visits.
In terms of cultural policy, the PQ intends to negotiate with major digital platforms, including Netflix and Spotify, to ensure approximately 30% of their content is Francophone. St-Pierre Plamondon indicated that the party aims to find a middle ground similar to European standards regarding content discoverability, emphasizing a negotiation-based approach to ensure Quebec's cultural content remains prominent on digital services.
