Partial lunar eclipse visible in Arar, Saudi Arabia

A deep partial lunar eclipse occurred during the full moon of Rabīʿ al-Awwal 1448 AH, visible in the skies of Arar, Saudi Arabia. In Arar, the penumbral phase began at 4:23 AM, followed by the partial eclipse at approximately 5:33 AM, lasting until the moon set at 5:49 AM.

Adnan Khalifa, a member of the Astronomy and Space Club, explained that the phenomenon occurs when Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon. This specific event was noted for its depth, with approximately 93% of the lunar disk entering Earth's shadow at its global peak, making it visually similar to a total eclipse.

While the peak of the eclipse occurred after the moon had set in Saudi Arabia, the phenomenon continued globally for several hours, visible across parts of Africa, Europe, and the Americas.
