Partido Colorado internal dynamics analyzed

Political analyst Guzmán Ibarra has addressed the internal dynamics of Paraguay’s Partido Colorado (ANR), arguing against the notion that the party acts as both government and opposition simultaneously.

Ibarra explains that while the party is characterized by intense factionalism, these internal disputes are not true opposition. Instead, they are described as minor intra-factional skirmishes. He notes that the current structure remains clearly defined: a president who administers, a faction that governs, and a leader who directs the movement. According to Ibarra, the president possesses administrative margins but remains politically dependent on the governing faction and the party leader.
