Partido Nacional targets 2030 return to Uruguay government

During the 190th anniversary ceremony of Uruguay's Partido Nacional in Montevideo, party board president Álvaro Delgado announced that the opposition party's primary goal is to return to government in 2030.

Delgado argued that the party must provide a sense of direction and hope to a population he perceives as discouraged. He stated that the opposition should not simply wait for the current Frente Amplio administration to fail, but should instead work daily to listen to citizens. He also emphasized the need to protect the achievements made during the Luis Lacalle Pou administration, which lasted from 2020 to 2025.

The event also featured a appearance by former president Luis Lacalle Pou, marking one of his first party engagements since leaving office in March 2025.
